C 25 SERUM
WHITE LABEL | GRAY LABEL
Our highest concentration vitamin C metabolite (25%) with an elegant organic rose hips hydrosol to help reduce the visible signs of dermal aging, especially blotchy uneven tone.
Available Sizes
1 oz / 30 ml
Product Information
An easy spreading, lubricious, long absorption serum
A very high concentration of vitamin C metabolite to fade away aging blemishes and pigmentation blotches.
Some skin warmth may be noticeable for first several applications (it’s working).
Key Benefits
Fast acting on key skin receptors
Organic rose hips hydrosol
Well tolerated vitamin C metabolite
Noticeable, visible improvement
Targeted Skin Type
Uneven pigmentation, age spots, blotchy, and unresponsive skin are C 25 SERUM targets.
Skincare Concerns
Note that any vitamin C topical can quickly generate skin receptor fatigue. Over frequent application will reverse visible benefits. The skin should be ‘surprised’ by this metabolite.
Very high concentrations as found in C 25 SERUM applied one evening per week (observe and adjust) seems to work best.
Aging or youthful skin with uneven pigmentation and blemishes cannot be exfoliated to a more even tone or address unsightly age spots. Where it has lost its vitality and responsiveness new approaches are necessary.
There are ways to recover depleted skin and we encourage you to learn more about skin recovery at REFERENCE TOPICS find especially these topics: REPAIR MODEL and the TRAINING MODEL.
Formulation
An easy spreading, lubricious, long absorption serum
Ingredients: White Label
Organic green tea, vitamin C metabolite (tetrahexydecyl-ascorbate), organic hydrosol of rose hips, organic jojoba oil, kosher glycerine, pre-polymer 2, polyquat 81, cellulose polymer, C12-15 ammonium alkyl esters, vanilla and herbal extracts, sodium benzoate, disodium EDTA
Ingredients: Gray Label
Organic green tea, vitamin C metabolite (tetrahexydecyl-ascorbate), organic hydrosol of rose hips, organic jojoba oil, kosher glycerine, pre-polymer 2, polyquat 81, cellulose polymer, C12-15 ammonium alkyl esters, sodium benzoate, disodium EDTA
Ingredient Call Outs
Free of parabens, formaldehyde, formaldehyde releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, sulfates (SLS & SLES), triclocarban, triclosan. Gluten and cruelty free. Acid free. Glycol free.
"PIGMENTATATION SPOTS"
Apply C 25 SERUM once or twice (1x-2x) per week, evenings (observe and adjust).
After two weeks a second active may be introduced.
Do not exceed 1x per week if a second active is in play. We recommend the use of A 0.5 DROPS / A 0.5 SERUM or A 1.0 DROPS / A 1.0 SERUM once per week.
Minimize other leave-on products, too. Avoid makeup, moisturizers and sunblock.
Use only very mild products and very infrequently exfoliate. Exfoliation often increases visible pigmentation spots.
Discontinue entire regime for 7 days every month. Let skin rest, cleanse and leave-on REVIVE only.
TIP: Use REVIVE as a cleanser and a leave-on moisturizer to help keep visible blemishes in check.
VISIBLE AGING
Apply C 25 SERUM (1x-2x) per week, evenings.
After two weeks you may add any 302 active.
CERAMIDE SERUM or PRO HYA + would be excellent choices to use twice per week with C 25 SERUM.
If you have three actives in play, limit every active to once (1x) per week application.
NEVER have more than three actives in play during a week. Limit every active to once per week to keep skin fresh and not saturated if three are in play.
Minimize other products, especially makeup and moisturizers, avoid sunblock chemistry. Use REVIVE as cleanser, alternate with other cleanser, like 302 CLEANSER. Use REVIVE as moisturizer, too, especially if skin is unstable.
For your skin if these conditions exist:
Exfoliating acids usage is infrequent
Benzoyl peroxide free for 30 days
Not inflamed or visibly unstable
Sensitive but not visibly unstable
Light to average makeup usage
Not for your skin if these conditions exist:
Inflamed, unstable skin
Frequent exfoliation
Unusual oral medications causing skin instability (i.e. chemo, cortisones, thyroid meds) may cause erratic skin behavior.
Recommended frequency of use:
One to two times (1x-2x) per week (observe and adjust)
After one month discontinue current active(s) regimen and allow skin to rest for a 7-10 days before resuming. This will allow skin reactions further out to be fresh and not weakened by over frequent or prolonged application periods.
Cleanse:
Note: two or three cleansers are recommended to be cycled through per week for best skin results.
Any 302 Skincare Cleanser or FACE & BODY BAR
Additional actives while using C 25 SERUM:
Do not introduce another active for 2 weeks.
Do not apply a second active more often than 2x per week.
You could have a third active in play.
Three actives per week = apply once per week (maximum).
If you have two or more actives in play AND are exfoliating frequently YOU WILL cause skin instability.
Additional leave-ons acceptable:
CALMING MIST recommended if two or more actives in play.
REVIVE, anytime
REMEDY (small pea sized amount for entire face)
LIGHT MOISTURIZER or BALANCE MOISTURIZER (on Actives free days)
Avoid:
Exfoliation
Scrubs
Heavy makeup
Benzoyl Peroxide
Actives are over frequently applied. The visible result then tails off and becomes disappointing usually within a month for receptor driven actives like Vitamin C (C 12.5 DROPS / C 12.5 SERUM, C 25 DROPS / C 25 SERUM) or Vitamin A (A 0.5 DROPS / A 0.5 SERUM, A 1.0 DROPS / A 1.0 SERUM).
The 302 molecule found in 302 DROPS, 302 DROPS PLUS, 302 SERUM and 302 SERUM PLUS is not as unforgiving as Vitamins C and A and B from over frequent application. But.
It is important to observe and adjust your frequency of application to optimize response. This is very different from what other skincare providers advocate. We developed this approach with our own clinicians during the last two decades. We find the concept works and brings you, the end user, into being your own best coach. Observe and adjust.
Be especially observant for the first few applications of an active. If your skin seems to react in a noticeable way, such as feeling warm, becoming pink (but not inflamed) or just much brighter and more plump then you are going to want to apply that product less frequently. That is counter-intuitive but it will have a better visible outcome for you. Do not be surprised if a 1x per week application of a powerful metabolite works just fine.
The reverse is true. You may find an active does meh, very little, after a few applications. Your skin just does not respond. That active is just not going to work for you.
Note: if that unresponsiveness is true for all actives then it is your skin that needs analysis by a professional. CLICK HERE to find the 302 Skincare professional nearest you.
For an in-depth discussion of this application frequency phenomena visit the REFERENCE TOPICS and read through the REPAIR MODEL and the TRAINING MODEL. This will give you perspective on 302 Skincare’s approach which is to surprise the skin (pleasantly), not saturate it.
Think of your skin as a houseplant, avoid overwatering and overfeeding it for best results.
If you have ever tried a product that worked well for you in the first few weeks and then rapidly went downhill, the answer may be the over frequent application of that metabolite weakened your skin. Observe and adjust.
