REFERENCE TOPICS
DMSO
The Skin Dork is NOT a fan of DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide). This is a garlic smelling solvent that can go transdermal (all the way through the skin) very easily and carry with it both water and oil compounds. For this reason skincare fanatics have used DMSO as a carrier for any number of ‘active’ molecules like vitamin C or A or stem cells in hopes of dropping them deep into the dermis to eliminate age spots, cell waste, improve cell metabolism and so on.
DMSO will definitely haul what you want deep into the skin, but in the process as it races right on down into the bloodstream it finds itself to the eye quite rapidly. Once there, bad things happen.
For those who say they use only a low concentration of DMSO, the Skin Dork will say they are going to spin out on that track sooner rather than later and the crash will not be pleasant.
Avoid DMSO. It was studied long ago and thought to be just perfectly fine. That was a mistake. You risk your eyes, your liver and your skin won’t metabolize those care package goodies DMSO hauls in anyway, so why bother.
DMSO stinks, dude.
